We're excited to announce that the first stage of our long-awaited pontoon upgrades is scheduled for Wed 22 - Fri 24 July.
The first stage is to perform maintenance to the existing pontoon by replacing the walers and fenders , before we add the new composite component.
To allow contractors safe access to complete the initial works, the pontoon will be unavailable during this period. Preparations for the upgrade will begin beforehand, and members may notice some temporary changes around the area.
During the works, vessels will be able to raft up in the designated waiting area along the retaining wall.
These upgrades are an important investment in our facilities, and we're excited to see the improvements completed. We thank all members for their patience and understanding while the work is carried out and look forward to delivering a better experience for everyone on the water.

Members are invited to attend the Wynnum Manly Yacht Club Annual General Meeting on Thursday 27 August 2026 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
The AGM is an important opportunity to reflect on the past year, hear updates from across the Club and help shape WMYC's future. Members will receive reports from the Commodore, Vice Commodore, Rear Commodore, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor and Club divisions, including Cruising, Sailing, Dragon Boats and the Marina Company.
The meeting will also include the presentation of Club Member of the Year and Club Life Membership awards, recognising outstanding contributions to our Club community.
A key part of the evening will be the election of the 2026/2027 Management Committee, Sub-Committee Members and Conduct Committee, providing members with the opportunity to participate in the governance and continued success of WMYC.
We encourage all financial members to attend, stay informed and have their voice heard. Please note that a quorum of 25 financial Full Members is required for the meeting to proceed.
We look forward to welcoming members as we celebrate another successful year and look ahead to an exciting future for WMYC.

Members are invited to attend a Special General Meeting (SGM) on Thursday 27 August 2026 at 6:30pm, prior to the Annual General Meeting, to consider several important resolutions relating to the future of sailing within our Club.
The purpose of the meeting is to consider a proposed transfer of the assets and liabilities of Wynnum Manly Sailing Club Inc to Wynnum Manly Yacht Club Inc, bringing sailing activities under a single Club structure.
Members will be asked to vote on a series of special resolutions covering:
The acceptance of the transfer of assets and liabilities from Wynnum Manly Sailing Club Inc.
The assumption of associated obligations and responsibilities by WMYC.
The admission of eligible Wynnum Manly Sailing Club Inc members into WMYC.
Proposed constitutional amendments to reflect the inclusion of sailing activities and changes to Club governance.
Authorisation for the Management Committee to finalise and execute the necessary agreements and transfer documents.
As these are Special Resolutions, each motion requires a 75% majority of members present and entitled to vote to be carried.
This meeting represents an important milestone in the ongoing development of sailing at WMYC, and we encourage all eligible members to attend and participate in the decision-making process.

We're still looking for a few handy volunteers to help give the tables at The Captain's Parrot Café a fresh new look.
The project involves sanding and refinishing the café tables, helping to keep our venue looking its best for members and guests. Whether you can spare a few hours or help across a few sessions, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Volunteering is a great way to contribute to the Club, meet fellow members and help maintain one of WMYC's most popular spaces.

Most Sunday afternoons, we hit the water as part of the SAGS series, a relaxed, friendly pursuit-style racing program enjoyed year-round. Beyond Sundays, WMSC also hosts a variety of race series and regattas across the season, with sailors of all experience levels always welcome to join the action.

The Manly Combined Clubs Race 8 is scheduled for Sunday 19 July, with the race briefing to be held at the Trailer Boat Club. After racing, competitors, crew and supporters are invited to the WMYC Clubhouse from 4:00pm for the race presentations and a free sausage sizzle.
Weather Warning
With severe weather currently forecast for the weekend, the MCC Committee is closely monitoring conditions and assessing whether it is safe to proceed. Any decision will be made with the safety of competitors and the wide variety of participating vessels as the highest priority. To give sailors, volunteers and support crews reasonable notice, a final decision on whether Race 8 will proceed will be made on Friday evening, 17 July.
SAGS
If you’re competing in the SAGS series, don’t miss out, average points will be allocated for this race, making it an important fixture in your season.
A similar weather review process will apply to the SAGS fleet, so all skippers and crew are encouraged to keep a close eye on the Bureau of Meteorology forecasts, which are released every 6 hous. Should racing be cancelled, notification will be distributed via SailSys and club channels on Sunday morning at 9am.

We're encouraging a few members, volunteers, officials and coaches to consider becoming a Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO).
MPIOs play an important role in helping create a safe, fair and inclusive sporting environment by providing information about rights, responsibilities and options available to members who may have concerns or complaints. They are impartial and do not investigate or mediate complaints.
The free MPIO training is completed in two parts:

Manly Dragon Boat Club (MDBC) is kicking off its next recruitment program on Saturday 16 August, and it’s the perfect opportunity to get involved.
Dragon boating is a fun and social way to stay active, meet great people, and enjoy the stunning Bayside environment—no experience needed.
MDBC’s Dragon Pass program is a 4-week introduction designed especially for beginners. All equipment provided (lifejackets and paddles). Come along and learn the basics in a supportive, welcoming team environment.
Sessions run from the first Saturday of each month, making it easy to get started.
