Live Watercolour Demonstrations with Graham W. Smith
Join renowned Wynnum artist Graham W. Smith FRQAS for a series of live watercolour painting demonstrations at The Captain's Parrot.
Over coffee and lunch, Graham will be creating a collection of small local scene watercolours in his sketchbooks, giving visitors a rare opportunity to watch an accomplished artist at work. Throughout the session, Graham will be sharing insights into his creative process, discussing his artwork on display at the WMYC Art Awards - Art by the Bay exhibition, and chatting with guests about watercolour painting and the local landscape that inspires him.
A Fellow of the Royal Queensland Art Society and a multi-award-winning artist, Graham's work is held in numerous public and private collections across Queensland. His paintings have been collected by institutions including the State Library of Queensland, Pine Rivers Gallery, Caloundra Regional Gallery, St Vincent's Hospital and St Andrew's Hospital.
One of Graham's watercolours is currently on loan to Her Excellency Dr Jeannette Young AC, Governor of Queensland, at Government House. His works have also been commissioned for permanent display within the Government House Administration Centre.
Since 1980, Graham has completed more than 3,400 artworks across a range of mediums, including hundreds of boat portraits and maritime-themed paintings.
